IS THIS FOR YOUR FAMILY?

Migration during adolescence brings unique challenges

Adolescence is already a period of change, exploration and identity development. When it takes place in a new country, with a different language and far from familiar friendships and cultural references, the process can become especially challenging. Many adolescents who have migrated feel that they do not fully belong anywhere — neither in their country of origin nor in their new one. That experience has a name, and it can be understood and supported.

THE GROUPS

Two groups, according to age

🌱 Group A · Ages 12–15For preadolescents navigating cultural adaptation and life between cultures.A space to explore identity, manage emotions and build a sense of belonging alongside other young people experiencing similar challenges.· Maximum 8 participants· Weekly 60-minute sessions· In-person in Valencia or online

FOR PARENTS

Navigating uncertainty as a parent also deserves a space

Many migrant and international parents feel unsure about how to help their children. At the same time, they are often navigating their own adaptation process, and the strategies that worked in their country of origin do not always fit the new context. The parent group offers a space for guidance, reflection and support for parents of migrant and international adolescents.A place to share experiences, gain understanding and discover new ways of supporting their children.· Separate group from the adolescent groups· Maximum 8 participants· Weekly 60-minute sessions· In-person in Valencia or online

FAQ Frequently Asked Questions

Does my child have to want to come?

It's normal for there to be some resistance at first. During the initial interview we assess together how motivated they are and how to prepare for joining the group. They don't need to be fully convinced — they do need to come.

Is it confidential?

Absolutely. Confidentiality is the foundation of the group space. What is shared in the group stays in the group.

How long does the process last?

The groups have a minimum recommended duration of 3 months for the process to have real impact. Places are renewed by edition. The summer edition runs for 6 weeks, with one session per week.

Can it be combined with individual therapy?

Yes. Therapeutic groups and individual therapy are compatible and often complement each other very well.

What if I'm not an adolescent and don't have children? Can I join a group?

The current groups are designed specifically for migrant adolescents and their families. However, if you are an adult or older adult interested in a group support space around migration, get in touch. If there is enough interest, I can put together a specific group for adults. The migration experience has no age limit — and neither does group therapy.

Each group is limited to 8 participants to ensure a supportive, personal and high-quality experience. If you would like to reserve a place or receive information about the next edition, feel free to contact me via WhatsApp.
